Globalization and self-management Tendencies, limitations and opportunities

This book shows the present world structure and the processes that guide the world. In this way the book consists of two main parts: the globalization and the self-management.

In the first part the globalization process is analyzed: its begginigs, mirrors and opposites, and the incoherences and posibilities that it brings. As a result, this is the most extensive part of the book and tries to analyse thorougly the broad meaning of the up-to date word 'globalization': an explanation of the concept is included, as well as the origins of the actual economic tendencies. Moreover, the work suggests some proposals for the future.

The second part of the book is based on the second word of the title and is related to the economic self-management. It reflects on the role self-management plays in the global interpretation of the world made in the first part, and special attention is given to the potencials in the process.

Management handbook for intercooperation projects

The Mundukide foundation, in colaboration with Lanki, presents this handbook about the management in the intercooperation projects.

The aims of this edition are two. On the one hand, related to the internal functioning, we hope that the handbook will contribute to repair the problems, to provide with a common looking approach of the area and to establish some standarized functioning guidelines for all the stages of the cycle of an intercooperation project. Besides that, with regard to the new workers of Mundukide, we expect that the document will become a reference or methodologic guide when tackling any project within the intercooperation area. On the other hand, regarding to the participant (or future participant) organizations in the projects, we expect that the handbook will give you a large and concise viewpoint about the accompaniment process.

The aim of this essay is to analyze the present situation of the Mondragon Experience. The evolution of Mondragon firm illustrates the need to reconsider the aims and initial ideology of the group, as nowadays the economic rationality is becoming more and more significant, to the detriment of the democratic and social aspects of the cooperatives, which have always been a trascendental characteristic of the group.

Self-management and globality. Situating economic self-management in today s world

What do the co-operatives provide today? To what extent are they instruments of the system in force and to what extent do they really bring about change? What is the point of the co-operative movement today, and to a wider extent self-management? Are they going anywhere? Or can they? These are important questions, as they question the extent of our motives. We think that answers can start to be given on an intuitive basis, and in line with this we have published an initial reflection in this booklet.

This work tackles the topic of participation from four different approaches. The historical approach explains the development of labour relations. This is followed by a look at the characteristics of the so-called new business culture. Then there is a critical look, with a critical analysis of that business culture. Finally, the co-operative approach, from the point of view of the Mondragón Co-operative Experience.

Arrasate. Kooperatiba baten ibilbidea

Fagor Arrasate is one of the original companies of the Mondragón Experience, the first to be set up as a co-operative. This book analyses the company’s historical development, in business, social and human terms, combining documentary analysis with the personal recollections of those involved.

DVD: Arizmendiarrieta. A project for social transformation

This dvd seeks to explain the thinking of Jose Maria Arizmendiarieta from an educational and general perspective. Beyond a mere formula for coopeative enterprise, the protagonist of the Mondragon cooperative movement put forward an integrated project of transformation based on self-development and cooperation.

Co-operatives and the Basque language. History and fundamentals of a new phase

The aim of this book is to throw some light onto the relationship that the companies and bodies that make up the Mondragón Co-operative Experience have had and have with the Basque language. The product of research work, the first two chapters analyse the source and history of the relationship, the third looks at the current plans and the fourth reflects on the future of the Basque language-co-operatives pairing.

Lankidetza. Arizmendiarrietaren eraldaketa proiektua

This book deals with the keys to the thinking of Jose Maria Arizmendiarrieta from an educational and informative perspective. Going beyond a co-operative business formula, the man behind the Mondragón co-operative movement came up with an integrated project based on self-constitution and co-operation. The book was published in Basque. It has been translated and also published in Spanish.
